This was where I learnt the basics of digital marketing and began my love of content in the digital form. From writing SEO optimised web content, to email, PPC, display and social - I covered it all.
February 2011 - September 2017
Farrow & Ball, Digital Content Manager
Client-side and with a much loved global brand to boot. I took a well established, traditional brand and turned it into a digital behemoth with over 1.5 million social followers and a legacy of year on year growth. I did this by working closely with all parts of the business, listening, understanding and then doing. Social, influencers, SEO content/strategy, content creation, innovation, programmatic, email. You name, if it's digital, I probably used it to best effect.
October 2017 - June 2020
Head of Digital, Runderwear
A start up in the running industry, I took Runderwear from four figure to six figure monthly sales. I did this through managing a rebrand, creating partnerships with organisations that matched our audience; Strava, England Athletics and The Running Bug to name but a few. I created a marketing strategy and managed all content on website, social and email.
2020 - 2024
Police Sergeant
Complete curveball. I always wanted to be a police officers so, getting close to 40, I thought now or never and joined the police! The transferrable skills between marketing and policing are surprisingly similar; they both have communication at their heart - knowing your audience and how to speak to them for the best outcome.
As a police officer have tested my mental and physical resilience. I have developed collaborative and inter-personal skills and as a sergeant, fine-tuned my ability to lead others, make difficult decisions and work cross-departmentally.
2020 - 2024
Freelance Marketing
Concurrent to being a Police Officer I still maintained my interest and expertise in marketing.
Dorset Chamber of Commence
- A 6 month project incorporating a new marketing strategy, development of job specs, hiring and ongoing consultancy.
- Marketing consultancy and white label services for various marketing agencies.
- Copywriting for a variety of brands.
